Terms of Use
By visiting HowToType.org you agree to the terms set out below. They cover what you can and can't do with the content, the limits on liability, and how the terms may change.

1. Who These Terms Apply To
These terms are a contract between you (the visitor) and the operator of HowToType.org. They apply every time you access the site, follow a link to a page on the site, or use any of the reference material it publishes. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please stop using the site.
2. Acceptable Use
You may read, bookmark, link to, and share pages on HowToType.org for personal, educational, and professional purposes. You may quote short passages with attribution, and you may print and distribute the cheat sheets for non-commercial use.
You must not:
- Scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the site without written permission
- Use automated tools to send traffic designed to inflate ad impressions or disrupt normal operation
- Attempt to compromise the site's security, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with other readers' access
- Use the content to train, fine-tune, or augment a model that is then redistributed as a competing reference product
- Present the content in a way that implies endorsement by HowToType.org where none has been given
- Use the site in a way that breaks applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction
3. Intellectual Property
The written content of the site, its layout, its code, and its design are the intellectual property of HowToType.org unless explicitly attributed to someone else. The "HowToType.org" name and the keyboard wordmark are trademarks of the site operator.
Unicode code points, official shortcut names, character names, and platform-standard shortcut sequences are not proprietary to HowToType.org — they are documented facts about how computers and operating systems work, and are reproduced here as reference material. Third-party names (for example, operating systems, editors, and keyboard layouts) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the product being described.
If you believe content on the site infringes a copyright you hold, follow the process in the Contact page to send a notice.
4. No Warranty
HowToType.org is provided "as is" and "as available". Content is written carefully and reviewed periodically, but keyboard behaviour depends on operating-system version, regional keyboard layout, third-party input managers, and individual device configuration. Something that works on one setup may not work on another. No warranty is given that any shortcut, code, or technique is accurate, complete, current, or fit for a particular purpose.
If a guide mentions ergonomic practice, typing drills, or similar advice, it is general guidance drawn from industry practice and should not be treated as professional medical, physiotherapy, or occupational-health advice. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HowToType.org, its operator, and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. This includes — without limitation — lost time, lost data, lost work, or hardware behaviour that differs from what a guide describes.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages. Where that applies, the exclusions above apply only to the extent the local law permits, and nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Links to Third-Party Sites
Guides may link to external pages — operating-system documentation, standards bodies, opt-out settings for advertising services, and similar. HowToType.org doesn't control third-party sites, isn't responsible for their content, and doesn't endorse anything there. Visiting a linked site is at your own discretion and subject to that site's terms and privacy policy.
7. Advertising
Pages may display advertising served by Google AdSense and related advertising vendors. HowToType.org does not control the content of individual ads and does not endorse advertised products or services. How advertising works and how to opt out of personalised advertising is covered in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
8. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time, for example when the site's features change, when the law changes, or when the editorial approach is adjusted. Material changes are reflected by updating the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use HowToType.org after a change means you accept the revised terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved amicably will be submitted to the courts of [Jurisdiction]. Where you are a consumer with mandatory protections in your country of residence, nothing in these terms removes those protections.
